What is an airsoft gun? Airsoft guns are replica toy guns that can be made from metal or plastic. Airsoft guns can use either gas or electricity as a power source. There are many different types of airsoft guns that can be a small pistol to an assault rifle. Airsoft guns can shoot different types of BB's that weigh different amounts, and the reason why it matters how much they weigh is because different sizes can change the distance that the gun can shoot them. Some airsoft guns can cost as much as $1,000 and the reason is because they are professional and very high quality.

Why is airsoft popular? Airsoft is slowly becoming more popular than some other military simulators. People prefer airsoft for it’s realism in the way the guns function. Airsoft guns are easy to customize, so it is easy to enjoy. Paintball is also a sport that is similar to airsoft but paintball guns look less realistic because they would have big Co2 canisters that take away the guns look. There are also airsoft guns that are made to be exact replicas because the people who make the guns think it is a very important characteristic.

Why airsoft safety is a problem? Protective gear is not expensive so buying a pair of goggles is should not be a problem. Irresponsible users use the guns for bad intentions and this can ruin it for everyone else and can be dangerous. Modifying an airsoft gun is dangerous and illegal, so it is best to leave the orange tip on the gun alone. Playing in a crowded area can cause panic and will confuse people. In the end it is the owner’s fault not the gun and if people would take the rules seriously, then safety would not be a problem.

Airsoft is ironically used by armed forces to train there soldiers without having to use real weapons. Without airsoft, training would be dangerous and would not be "enjoyable" by the trainee's. Airsoft is a sport that you cannot just do and not expect to spend much money. Hight quality airsoft guns will rarely go under the $100's and if they do, they probably are not very great. Some airsoft guns can even be as expensive as $1000. Yet this is only the gun expenses, when playing airsoft you will be shooting plastic bb's and you will have to keep stalking up on them. Even the masks can be expensive and most like to play with professional gear such as vests and other military clothes. If someone wants to play airsoft they should make sure that they will be ready to spend plenty more even if they say, "I have enough guns," I have also thought this and even now I continue to spend money on airsoft merchandise.

Slowly airsoft is becoming more popular over paintball. Some prefer the realism of airsoft which is the reason why they play these kind of sports. Airsoft guns are so realistic, that they even get police confused which would be a bad thing. Airsoft is a sport that has to be real because when people play it, they are looking for the rush of actually being in a real battle. Since airsoft is growing, so is the amount of accidents; The reason for this is because when someone new joins airsoft they dont know how to actually handle a gun and they will most likely have an accident. I am glad that airsoft is growing more popular, now maybe people will not consider it a bad sport.

If you might feel like going to a big competition and i mean BIG with around 1,500 players every year and still growing, then you should look into this and this is not Berget 6's airsoft homepage, it is just a website that was not blocked that had good information on them so just look up their homepage.

What I Want to Know

I want to know why airsoft is slowly becoming a –threat-. If people need eye safety then they can buy safety goggles which can be as low as $6.00 which should not be a problem as long as it is to help you. Airsoft can be enjoyed by everyone and should only be used as equipment, not to endanger someone. Adults should also learn how to tell the difference between an airsoft gun and a real gun. When adults overreact by calling the police by the site of what looks to be a gun, they should make sure by looking for an orange tip or about any news of the kids around the area that may play this sport. Parents should really be the ones who decide if airsoft can be played by their child, but they should also understand that airsoft is a sport that can be educating and fun.
