Airsoft guns have many rules to keep the users safe as well as the people around them. They are important and should not be taken lightly. In crimes people have been using airsoft guns to fool others into thinking that they are real by painting them and removing the orange flash at the end of the barrel. This is a vital rule because it can cause confusion and can get the user injured or even killed.
There have been cases when police mistake the airsoft gun for a real gun and take it as a threat to everyone and have to use force which usually results in shots being fired. This is where people debate over if it should be treated as a toy or a real gun. People don’t understand that it isn’t the gun that should be focused on; it should be the person who holds it. Airsoft can be fun as long as people follow the rules and stay safe. It is a sport that has been growing at a faster rate over paintball.
Great topic, I'm sure that there are hundreds of people out there who inappropriately use their airsoft weapons, or do not know the proper way to use/handle them. There are most likely even more people who aren't familiar with safety measures such as gloves or facemasks/goggles, which leads to thousands of injuries every year. (I should know, I'm in your public service group for this exact subject.)
